Polish Group about "NEET to work"

Aktualisiert: 17. Nov. 2021

Interview of Adelajda Hirsztritt from Poland after the Training Course "NEET to work" in Yerevan

Can you give us your opinion about the project "NEET to Work"?

„NEET to work” was a great experience that made me learn and realize so many things. First of all, I deepend my knowledge about NEET situation in different countries. Together with young people from different EU and non EU contries we came up with some very creative ideas to prevent people from becoming NEET. It was very encouraging and inspiring to meet participants with different backgrounds and share our ideas and experiences. I have better understanding of myself and of the world. It was a great adventure that brought aspirations, motivation and ideas for the future actions..

According to you, what support works best for young people at risk of becoming NEET?

In my opinion the key to prevent people from becoming NEET is education, especially non-formal one. At schools there should be more practical activities focused on career path and future goals. Youngsters should be more informed about unconventional ways of education, like trainings, workshops, youth exchanges. I think that also more attention should be drawn to mental health problems that are getting more visible in today's world.

What is the most important thing you have learned during the training? How do you plan to share and use your knowledge?

I learnt that there are so many risk factors of becoming NEET and everyone of us could

experience this kind of situation. However, I also discovered very powerful tools that will

help in my future work to prevent youngsters from becoming NEET. One of my plans is to raise awareness about non-formal education, especially Erasmus+ programme and organise workshops about alternative ways of education.
